We understand your connectivity to your clients, but we urge you to take a deep breath and know that they are not going anywhere right now. Your clients are safe, assets are in custody at the same institution and there is no reason at this moment to bring them into the mix. This is where most Advisors trip up and do permanent damage to themselves and their client relationships.
Clients are living their lives and still think of you in exactly the same way, no matter the accusations against you. Arguing your case or informing them or your status will work against you right now. Let others at your firm make that mistake, not you. We will consult with you on how to position yourself from strength, not weakness. Most importantly, there is no rush right now, even if your client is on the brink of a major event. The event will be handled by your firm. Your job is the long game, not the short. Be confident in your relationships and know that a few weeks will not make any difference. Let others make the mistake of being opportunistic, while you stay above the fray.
